  • Young Muslim Organisation UK

Despite all its apparent material and economic achievements, society is now more than ever groping with immorality and social bankruptcy. Muslims living in Britain, particularly the youth are confronted by many challenges ranging from drug abuse, family breakdowns, racism, and crime, to institutional Islamaphobia and Identity Crisis. We are living in an age characterised by individualism, social alienation and turbulence. Since September 11 2001, the world has changed. In this new and changed climate the challenges faced by Muslims have, if anything intensified.

In October 1978 young Muslim men gathered in a house in London to bring together a dynamic band of youth who would respond to the challenges faced by their community with deep faith, true commitment and a positive and comprehensive work plan. They believed that this was the way to success, to preserve and strengthen Muslim identity in Britain, and contribute to the global Islamic Movement whose aim is to direct the Islamic process of social change. Thus was the Young Muslim Organisation UK (YMO UK) born!

    Muslimaat UK

    The beginning

It was initiated by a small group of female youth who felt the need to call young Muslim women back to the Deen of Islam. They felt the urge to bring about change in the community, which would be conducive to individuals, allowing them to realise their True Muslim identity, at an age where many of the youth have become immersed in popular culture and social ills.

    Our Call

Muslimaat UK endeavours to introduce Islam in its entirety to the youth, awakening the hearts of the Muslim women and encouraging them to realise the individual responsibility of working together under the principles of a Jama'(organisation). It is therefore a collective effort, to strive together towards the ultimate goal, that is to reach Allah.

  • The Pilgrimage To Makkah
Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races here in this ancient Holy Land, the home of Abraham, Muhammad and all the other Prophets of the Holy Scriptures. For the past week, I have been utterly speechless and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people of all colors.
    The Essence of Hajj
The significance of Hajj as a pillar of Islam is quite evident from the reward this act of worship brings to its performer. As has been reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the person performing the Hajj is forgiven and purified as if he/she is a newborn baby. Although its importance and formalities are generally known and talked about, its essence, spirit, and impact on a performer?s behavior and personality are not generally understood or remembered.
