London East Academy

London East AcademyThe community has for some time expected that the leadership of the British Muslims who live in this part of London initiate an institution that becomes a flag bearer of standards, and contributes towards the preparation of a new generation of Alims and Da'ees for Europe. The institution hopes to play a part in creating these leaders for the growing Muslim community, who can serve Allah (swt) and His creation and draw inspiration from the main sources of Islam. They will be people who can influence, rather than follow the tide of the times.

To achieve this goal, the Academy intends to follow a balanced curriculum with due emphasis to Islamic Sciences, Arabic and the National Curriculum. In addition, it will create an environment through extra curricular activities and examples set by all involved, in which students will strive to achieve their full potential - academically, spiritually and socially. Students, after graduating from the Academy, will have gained the necessary skills to be able to pursue further and higher education, both in home and abroad.

London East Academy is a humble realisation of a noble vision. The history of Islam bears witness that the value of quality supersedes the force of quantity - when quality takes root, quantity follows. We request parents who share our vision to come forward to join fully with the staff and the management in sincerity, commitment and dedication. Together we can strive to build an institute to develop the leaders of the future, who will stand with esteem and glory while remaining deeply rooted in Islam's sources and history.

Never have I witnessed such sincere hospitality and overwhelming spirit of true brotherhood as is practiced by people of all colors and races here in this ancient Holy Land, the home of Abraham, Muhammad and all the other Prophets of the Holy Scriptures. For the past week, I have been utterly speechless and spellbound by the graciousness I see displayed all around me by people of all colors.
    The Essence of Hajj
The significance of Hajj as a pillar of Islam is quite evident from the reward this act of worship brings to its performer. As has been reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the person performing the Hajj is forgiven and purified as if he/she is a newborn baby. Although its importance and formalities are generally known and talked about, its essence, spirit, and impact on a performer?s behavior and personality are not generally understood or remembered.
